Western United Liberty A-League injury update – March 2023

Stacey Papadopoulos Western United

With the Liberty A-League Women Finals Series approaching, Western United can provide an update on the injury status of a handful of its Liberty A-League Women squad members.

Stacey Papadopoulos has recovered from a knee injury sustained in Round 11 against Brisbane Roar and has returned to training over the past fortnight.

The full-back will be available for selection against Canberra United on Saturday, providing United with a significant boost heading into the final weeks of the season.

Aimee Medwin underwent successful surgery to repair her ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and is beginning the rehabilitation process.

The surgery was successful and Medwin is recovering well with a view to returning to the pitch in the strongest shape possible.

Unfortunately, Harriet Withers has been placed on the long-term injury list as she continues to manage and recover from ankle surgery.

Everyone at Western United wishes Harriet all the very best with her ongoing recovery and looks forward to seeing her back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Youngsters Silver Bell Morris and Raquel Deralas have both battled injuries at various stages throughout the season, but both have returned to training this week.

The scholarship duo will continue to work up to speed on the training pitch and will be available if called upon in the Finals Series.
