Following the announcement from the Victorian State Government that Victoria will enter stage 4 restrictions from 11:59pm on Friday, February 12, Western United’s match against Sydney FC scheduled for Saturday 13, February at AAMI Park has been postponed.
“We are committed to ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all players and staff, our inter-state guests from Sydney and our fans,” Western United CEO Chris Pehlivanis said.
“We hope that the lockdown measures are eased for Victorians at the completion of the five days, and we will remain flexible and ready to prepare for upcoming fixtures as advised by Australian Professional Leagues.”
The club are waiting on advice from the Victorian Government regarding the professional sport exemption which may allow our A-League team to continue to train.
