Western United FC is delighted to have extended the contract of Ryan Scott for another two years, which will see the gloveman remain at the club until the end of the 2022/23 A-League season.

Scott, who took over as the number one goalkeeper midway through the current campaign was delighted to re-sign with the Green and Black.

“Obviously they see me being someone who they want to hang around at this football club, which is good for me and I’m very happy,” Scott said.

“I started playing [this season] which has been good for myself, I’ve put in some good performances which I’ve been happy with.

“Filip [Kurto] went down with an injury, and it was sort of up to me to take my opportunity which I have done and hopefully I’ll be here for a long time.”

Scott made his first appearance of the season in Matchweek 11 against Western Sydney Wanderers, coming on for the injured Kurto.

He has made 15 total appearances this season and has kept five clean sheets.

“Ryan got an opportunity to sign with our club last season and hasn’t looked back,” Head Coach Mark Rudan said.

“His fantastic performances have been a stand out this season and have been rewarded with an extension. He’s hugely popular in the dressing room and has shown his leadership qualities throughout.”
