Western United is pleased to announce that midfielder Steven Lustica has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
Lustica, 29-years-old and an A-League champion in 2014, joins goalkeeper Ryan Scott as the two latest players to extend their deals at United.
“Steve has seamlessly entered our football team and club through his professionalism, strong work ethic, and positive attitude,” Head Coach Mark Rudan said.
“His extension is just reward for his solid performances knowing that he has the ability to still improve.”
Lustica joined United in February from Uzbekistan Super League club FC Qizilqum Zarafshon.
The midfielder made three starts in green and black, cementing himself in central midfield before the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lustica said: “I’m very excited to have extended my stay at Western United. The club has already built a great culture here and I’m happy to be part of it. With the players and coaching staff that we have led by Head Coach Mark Rudan hopefully we can achieve a lot of success.”
Lustica and Western United have resumed full training in preparation for their July 16 clash with Melbourne Victory.
