Western United is delighted to announce preparations are underway for the 2026 Academy season as well as the year-ending intake of the WUFC Development Centre in 2025.
The Club is proud to continue its mission to provide talented young footballers in the West the opportunity to play, develop and love the game.
In its first five years, the Western United Academy has directly contributed to 15 professional debuts and a host of national team opportunities, including at youth World Cups and Asian Cups.
Western United Academy trials

Players born from 2007 to 2014 are invited to submit an expression of interest to trial for a place in the Western United Academy from the Under 13’s right up to the Senior’s.
If successful in being chosen for a trial, players will participate in a number of training sessions and match opportunities before final places will be offered ahead of the 2026 season.

WUFC Development Centre final 2025 intake

Western United will also round out 2025 with an eight-week Term 4 intake in the WUFC Development Centre, open to boys – born 2013-2018 – and girls – born 2008-2016.
Sessions will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays at Ironbark Fields with opportunities to participate in one or multiple sessions per week, including specialised goalkeeper sessions.
Programs will consist of training sessions and exclusive development opportunities as well as a gala day to finish the term in the boy’s program.
Players will complete a trial during the week starting 20 October before the program kicks off in the week starting 27 October, running right up until Christmas.
Boys and girls born from 2008 to 2015 are also invited to join the Speed & Strength program, enhancing physical potential and high-performance mechanics.
