Western United will have entertainment and fun at every corner for Superhero Round at Ironbark Fields this Saturday 5 April.
It’s a huge match for John Aloisi’s men as we take on Perth Glory with records on the line, big points to secure and all in support of the incredible people at the Good Friday Appeal (GFA).
With so much to enjoy on and off the pitch, we’re kicking of the school holidays with a bang and bringing you the best day out in the West this weekend.
Western United x Good Friday Appeal
The Green and Black family has already raised nearly $1,700 for the Good Friday Appeal with three weeks still left to make a difference.
At Superhero Round this weekend, there will be volunteer tin rattlers accepting gold coin donations upon entry.

With the team set to wear the popular black third kit for the match, Western fans can make a contribution while copping some personal heat for their own collection with $10 from every third kit purchased going straight to the GFA.
The superhero theme will shine a light on the greatest heroes in our community that help keep our kids safe at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Dress-up competition and Community Hero nominations
We’re pumped for the entire Western family to get into the superhero mood with a special dress-up competition on the day.
All you have to do is head to the match in your best superhero get-up to be in the running of winning some spot prizes, selected by the players themselves at the end of the match.
Time to dust off that Spiderman mask, Superman cape or Batman belt so you can dress to impress and stand out from the rest.
That’s not the only chance to win big on the day with our Community Hero competition, where you can nominate someone in the West that makes a positive impact on the lives of others.
It could be the volunteers at your local club or school, the dedicated shop workers or medical professionals that make the West what it is.
Fill out the nomination form to submit your Community Hero recommendation, with an exclusive on-pitch experience on offer for the winners.
Incredible merch options as Shearer’s Cupboard returns
On top of the chance to grab your third kit from the Western United merch outlets, we are pumped to welcome Shearer’s Cupboard back to Ironbark Fields.
A popular stop at Retro Round in January, Shearer’s Cupboard will once again be set up in the forecourt with the very best retro jerseys on offer.
Whether it’s your favourite European club, a national team close to your heart or some incredible Aussie football finds, there’s a little bit of everything in Shearer’s Cupboard’s selection and you could be walking away with something to make your mates jealous.
All your other Western United favourites
As with every home game at Ironbark Fields, we’re bringing you some of the best food and beverage options in the game.
The WUFC Kiosk, Bar and Beer Garden will be open for your needs with the Members’ Bar in the Pavilion and food trucks around the forecourt and beer garden area as well.

Alongside that will be plenty of fun activities, games and competitions on the synthetic pitch and just inside the gate to get you in the mood for an incredible evening.
Youngsters on show in Western United Academy curtain-raiser
As well as the Isuzu UTE A-League Men main event, Western United fans will be able to get behind the next generation with an Academy curtain raiser on the day.
Andreas Papanicolaou’s senior side is currently sitting in fourth place on the VPL 1 Men table and will be eager for another exciting performance against Eastern Lions.
The Under 23’s are in even better form and have opened up a five-point gap at the top of the table, winning all eight matches so far and scoring 39 goals.
Their match will kick off at 11:30am on the synthetic pitch before the Senior’s head out on the main pitch 2:30pm. All Isuzu UTE A-League ticket holders will be granted early entry to watch the Academy stars shine bright.
Get behind the boys as the end of the season heats up
Lastly and most importantly, Saturday is a chance for you to show your colours and make your voice heard as we push the boys to an important result.
With six games remaining, we’re holding second place on the table with eyes on securing a place in the finals and keeping the pressure on Auckland FC at the top.
Saturday could be an day for the Club to help get us there, with the boys hoping for a Club-record fifth win in a row. As well as that, any goal that we score in the game would be our 47th of the campaign, the most out of any season in our history.
Noah Botic is flying in the golden boot race, Riku Danzaki and Matthew Grimaldi are on fire on the wings, Angus Thurgate is bossing the midfield each week and Dylan Leonard is showing why he is one of the country’s best young talents.
That’s not even mentioning all the other players that have produced starring moments in Green and Black this season, making 2024/25 already an unforgettable campaign.

But there’s so much more to achieve together, and the boys need your energy to feed off every step of the way.
Lock in your tickets now, take in everything the day has to offer and get behind the boys on another landmark day for the West.
