Western United will bring in the new year with an A-Leagues bonanza as tickets go on sale for five titanic matches in December.
It all kicks off on the very first day of the month with the Westgate Derby as United gets reacquainted with old rivals Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park.
The derby has been one of the best fixtures on the calendar since the first edition back in 2020 with comebacks, late drama, fiery tackles, goals galore and wall-to-wall action guaranteed.
Just a week later, the Green and Black will return to its rightful home at Ironbark Fields in Tarneit for a special fixture against Macarthur FC.
This will mark a repeat of the Club’s first ever Isuzu UTE A-League Men match at Ironbark, a game that will live long in the memory as the Tarneit faithful spurred the team onto a 4-2 win.
That fixture sets up a blockbuster weekend of action with the Ninja A-League Women squad finally playing Sydney FC at home in Victoria again.
The game on Sunday December 8 will be just the second meeting between the Green and Black and the reigning Champions in United’s home state and the first at Ironbark Fields.
Both Western United teams will then go on a two-week away stand leading up to Christmas before a firecracker end to the year with a first double header of the season on Sunday 29 December.
John Aloisi’s men will face Brisbane Roar at 5pm AEDT before Kat Smith leads the girls into battle at 7:45pm, also against the Roar.
The heat is getting turned up to kick off the summer and draw a close to an historic year for Western United, and it’s time to celebrate together.
