Western United fans will be able to get a first look at the Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s newest team when Auckland FC heads to Ironbark Fields for a friendly on Wednesday 25 September.
The match is set to kick off at 1:00pm and will be open for free for the Green and Black faithful to get a glimpse of John Aloisi’s side in its pre-season preparations.
On top of an historic first ever meeting against Auckland, there will plenty to enjoy for everyone in attendance with Western United memberships and merchandise on sale and lunch and coffees available for the afternoon.
The game will see United continue to develop towards the season opener which is creeping ever closer.
Aloisi and his players will be out to build on a strong display in its most recent friendly last Saturday, ending in a 2-0 win over Melbourne City.
Hiroshi Ibusuki scored his first goal for the Club in that game before Oliver Lavale wrapped it up in the second half, capping off an energetic performance from the side in all phases of the game.
A number of Western United youngsters continue to shine and earn opportunities in pre-season. Charbel Shamoon signed his first professional contract this week, becoming the eighth player from the Western United Academy to ink a first team deal in this off-season.
United fans will get a taste of what is to come at Ironbark Fields this season ahead of a huge home opener on Sunday 27 October against Juan Mata and Western Sydney Wanderers.
The West is about to be awoken this Isuzu UTE A-League season and the Green and Black army will descend on Tarneit once more.
