Western United unveil goalkeeper kits for 2021/22

Western United is excited to launch the vibrant new kits to be worn by the club’s goalkeepers throughout the 2021/22 season.

Following on from the launch of the home and away playing strips last week, Italian manufacturer Kappa brings United an all-new line-up of goalkeeper kits for a fresh campaign.

The yellow of last season’s home goalkeeper kit remains this season, while change strips will stand out with teal and purple strips for away days.

Each of the three keeper kits utilise the Kombat Pro technology present in all Kappa kits this season, ensuring an increased range of movement and supreme comfort for goalkeepers to perform athletic dives and strong leaps in the penalty area.

The outfits provide a nod to the outfield counterpart, with the W of the Western United logo fed into the background of the jersey. The shape of the W also works to create a vision of stripes in the background of the jersey, resemblant of the green and black stripes that the club has adorned and made its own.

This element of the kit leaves opponents in no uncertain terms of the strength of Western United, with the goalkeeper defending the team, and the club, with that striking W across the body.

All three strips also contain the same green and black trim in the two-toned collar and multi-panelled sleeves, meaning that while the keepers might be wearing a different colour to their teammates, the green and black remains with them in an important way.

The inside neckline maintains the Forever West slogan to reinforce this point of camaraderie and togetherness, something the club has stood by since its inception.

New signing Jamie Young is eager to get his hands on the new threads ahead of his first season at the club and looks forward to wearing them with pride in front of the fans.

“It’s great to see the new GK kits for Western United,” he said.

“I’m proud to wear these new designs and cannot wait to put on the Western United colours and represent our region in the forthcoming season.”

Ryan Scott added his pleasure at seeing the new kits and is excited by the quality they will provide.

“Kappa have yet again produced some exciting goalkeeper kits for the new season,” he said.

The Western United logo is situated to the left of the chest in its broad, commanding design to give players and supporters the connection and loyalty to stand by.

Principal partner Simonds Homes features across the middle of the jersey on the front as both organisations continue to support each other’s growth and commitment to the west.

Victoria University Polytechnic finds a place on the right sleeve and Wyndham City also remains on the lower back of the jersey, recognition for the hard work both organisations put in to grow communities in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
