Western United’s Community Team was at Colac Otway Rovers AFC on Wednesday night, visiting the club’s term four junior football clinic.

It was the first of six free clinics hosted by Rovers that aims to get kids active by playing football.

The clinics are open under 18’s, and it does not matter whether you’re a football fanatic or have never kicked a ball before, all are welcome to join.

United’s Schools, Club and Community Manager, Pete Bradley, said it was a fantastic initiative that put plenty of smiles on kids’ faces.

“A great initiative by the club to get kids active and back playing football,” Bradley said.

“On the night they had 20 new players under 12, some of which had never played football before.

“It was great to see the kids with a ball at their feet and a smile on their face. Well done to all the volunteer coaches who are giving their time to put this on for the club.

“We will continue to support Colac Otway Rovers as they continue to grow.”
