Western United will mark Saturday 13 April 2024 as one of the biggest days in its history to date with confirmation of the Club’s first-ever home A-Leagues final in Tarneit.

The Regional Football Facility will host Western United’s Liberty A-League Women Elimination Final against Newcastle Jets.

Not only will this mark a first home final in the Liberty A-League and a first final in Tarneit, it will also headline the Club’s inaugural A-Leagues double header at the Regional Football Facility.

Kicking off at 6:30pm AEST, the Elimination Final will take place immediately after United’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men side faces off against Central Coast Mariners from 3:30pm.

Kat Smith’s side secured the home final with a trademark fightback against Central Coast on Thursday night, with Kiara De Domizio’s stunning finish – her first in professional football – securing a 1-1 draw.

Results throughout the weekend have confirmed Newcastle as the sixth-placed side and United’s opponents to begin the post-season, setting up a mouthwatering storyline.

Western United will be out for revenge after the Club’s first-ever game at the Regional Football Facility two weeks ago, where Newcastle came away with a win.

The Jets have the edge in the head-to-head matchup to date but United will be looking to channel its record 6-0 triumph from last season and advance to a possible semi-final tie against Sydney FC.

Finishing in the top three for the second straight season and becoming the first Western United season to secure back-to-back finals campaigns, this team is made for the big occasion and will bring the fire once the whistle blows on 13 April.

Tickets will go on sale for the double header this week, bringing the entire football community in one place, one home, for one day that will live in the history of the West.

In the meantime, the football family in the West can snap up tickets to the Isuzu UTE A-League Men home opener as United takes on Macarthur FC at 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday 6 April.

Spaces are filling up, so make sure you secure you spot for the next milestone moment in Australian football.
