What you need to know about Western United’s fixture


Western United will open and close the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League season restart after the fixture was confirmed on Wednesday.

United will face Melbourne Victory on Thursday, July 16, and will aim to make it three wins from three this season against their local rival.

Mark Rudan’s side will take on Melbourne City four days later in a highly anticipated clash that could shape the top six.

Games against Sydney FC, Newcastle Jets, Western Sydney Wanderers will follow, before the Green and Black end the home and away season against last year’s premiers, Perth Glory on Wednesday, August 12.

The A-League Finals Series will kick off on Saturday, August 15 with the Grand Final on Sunday, August 23.
