Western United youngster Zach Lisolajski has been selected in the latest Young Socceroos squad for the Marbella Week of Football in Spain.
Lisolajski joined Western United on a Youth Development Agreement has been consistently involved in pre-season training with the first team since he arrived.
Hailing from the West, Lisolajski played his junior football at Sydenham Park SC before crossing the border to play in the Newcastle Jets academy.
Now returning home, the athletic centre-back has impressed John Aloisi and his staff, featuring in the side’s recent friendly against Brisbane Roar.
The 17-year-old will now enter an international camp for the first time as the Young Socceroos prepare for a big week of football at the prestigious Marbella Football Centre.
Western United General Manager of Football said the quality Lisolajski has shown since arriving at the Club justified his Young Socceroos selection.
“We have been extremely impressed with Zach since he came into our environment and we are delighted for him to have this opportunity with the Young Socceroos,” he said.
“It is of continued importance for us to provide a platform for young players to thrive on an international scale and we are proud of Zach for earning this opportunity.
“Added to that, we are delighted to incorporate a talented young player from the West into our program and we look forward to watching his continued development at our Club.”
The Marbella Week of Football is bringing together some of Europe’s top young international sides, with Australia joining the party for three matches across the week in mid-October.
The Young Socceroos will first take on France before meeting the Netherlands and Denmark with this set to be a fantastic experience for Lisolajski and his teammates.
Lisolajski will hope to impress Trevor Morgan and his staff before returning to training with Western United as he continues to grow as a footballer.
