Abel Walatee burst onto the scene for Western United, scoring a sensational goal in just his second A-League Men appearance against Perth Glory in April 2024.
The 20-year-old nearly backed that up with a disallowed goal the following week against Melbourne City, but his position as one of Western United’s most exciting prospects was firmly cemented.
The explosive winger signed his first professional contract a couple of weeks later, generating widespread enthusiasm amongst the Green and Black faithful.
Abel’s electric pace and mesmerising skill with the ball at his feet instantly make him one of the A-League Men’s most exciting players, and he will regularly have the crowd on its feet at Ironbark Fields in the years to come.
