Matthew Sutton

Matt Sutton crossed the state divide when he arrived at Western United from Melbourne City in 2023.

A 23-year-old at the time, Sutton immediately became a cornerstone of the Western United changing room and made five appearances in his debut campaign. Those matches coincided with the Green and Black’s best run of form in the 2023/24 campaign as he helped the team secure two wins and two draws in that time.

Sutton’s distribution is his most impressive asset along with his command of the penalty box and his ability to marshal the defence in front of him.
