Biography
Tomoki joined Western United in February 2020 to help cover an injury crisis in defence.
The Japanese defender made his debut for the Green and Black in Round 19 of the 2019/20 season against Brisbane Roar and was instrumental in the remaining games of our inaugural season.
Imai took it up another level in the 2020/21 season, playing every single minute of the campaign at centre-back. He was rightly recognised for a stellar campaign with Player of the Season and Fans’ Player of the Season honours going his way.
Imai continued to be a key part of United’s team in the 2021/22 season, featuring prominently at centre-back and right-back on the way to helping the Green and Black win the A-League Men Championship.
