Western United will engage in two mammoth semi-final legs against Melbourne Victory this week for a spot in the Isuzu UTE A-League Men Grand Final.
The Green and Black secured a 1-0 victory over Wellington Phoenix in the Elimination Final on Saturday night, a memorable conclusion to the Club’s first ever home final.
That sets up a mouthwatering semi-final tie with rivals Victory, with the two legs at AAMI Park set to be played on Tuesday May 17 and Saturday May 21.
Western United will be the home team for the first leg, while the second leg will be a Melbourne Victory home match.
Tickets for both matches are on sale now for Western United members. The member-only presale will last until 5pm on Monday for the first leg, and until 11am on Tuesday for the second leg.
Members are eligible for a 10% discount during this pre-sale period, but the discount will not be available beyond that period.
General public tickets will be available for each individual match at the closure of the respective member pre-sale periods.
Western United fans are all encouraged to take up a spot behind the goal once again and form a block of Green and Black support to get behind the team in the home leg on Tuesday.
The United support will set up in Bay 17 on the Yarra River side of the stadium and all Western United supporters can purchase into surrounding General Admission areas in order to sit together as a Green and Black family.
Any supporters that would prefer to sit on the side of the pitch can purchase into Bays 9-11 or 22-24 to be as close to the Western United active support as possible.
The away leg will see United fans group together in Bay 14 to bring the noise against Victory’s home support.
The Club will also once again put on a shuttle bus service for Geelong-based fans, with further details to come surrounding timing and location of the pick-up and drop-off points.
Western United will renew hostilities with Melbourne Victory, a side with which the Green and Black has had a number of great battles over the past three seasons.
The Green and Black fell to two defeats against Victory in the opening six rounds of the campaign but was minutes away from a big win in March before Tony Popovic’s side netted a late equaliser.
Prior to that, though, United had beaten Victory four times in five matches and will be out for a return to that form over this week.
John Aloisi’s side has got off to the perfect start in its Finals campaign after a record-breaking regular season which ended in a third-placed finish on the table.
Victory have been one of the league’s form teams for some time as they remain unbeaten in 15 matches, but United will seek to put everything into these two legs with a spot in the Grand Final on the line.
