John Aloisi has named his final extended squad of the season as Western United takes on Perth Glory in Round 26 of the Isuzu UTE A-League Men on Saturday night.
After pulling out of last week’s match against Melbourne City with an injury sustained in the warm up, Tongo Doumbia remains unavailable for the season finale.
The Malian midfielder succumbed to a calf problem last week and will not be available for selection, bringing his season to a premature end.
A number of Western United players could be in line to reach milestone appearance totals in this final fixture, with Jamie Young set to play his 20th Isuzu UTE A-League match.
Leo Lacroix is on the cusp of his 50th match in the league – all of which have of course been with United – and as is Michael Ruhs.
In terms of career milestones, there will be two significant ones as Alessandro Diamanti and Nikolai Topor-Stanley prepare to bid farewell to professional football.
Having both announced their retirements, Diamanti and Topor-Stanley will take part in one more matchday and will be eager to go out on a high with a win.
Sebastian Pasquali will hope to make a second straight start after coming in last week, while Noah Botic and Aleksandar Prijovic will compete to end the season as the side’s top scorer with both strikers locked on five goals apiece.
