It’s that time of year again as the football world celebrates the latest edition of the EA Sports FIFA series, with fresh ratings dropping for FIFA 23.
After winning the Isuzu UTE A-League Men Championship last season, Western United features prominently among players in the league with a number of the Club’s stars receiving upgraded stats.
Alessandro Diamanti is once again the side’s highest-rated player, receiving a 73-rated item which ranks him fourth in the league overall. His 77 rating for passing is the second best in the competition, while he also ranks in the top 10 for shooting and dribbling.
After a brilliant 2021/22 season, Josh Risdon has received an upgrade to a rating of 72 with 75 pace and 69 defending, the equal third best total in the A-League Men.
One of the two players that has a better defending rating than Risdon is Leo Lacroix. His 71 rating for defending is joint-highest in the competition and matches his overall rating, which represents a four-point increase after his tremendous debut season in Victoria.
Jamie Young’s rating has gone up by one to 69, as has Ben Garuccio’s with United’s reigning Player of the Season jumping up to a 67.
Also receiving a rating of 67 is Lachie Wales, a big increase from his 63-rated item in FIFA 22 and worthy recognition of his pivotal role in United’s attacking play.
New signing Tongo Doumbia comes in as a 66-rated defensive midfielder and is joined by Tomoki Imai and Connor Pain who received upgrades of four and two respectively.
Dylan Pierias is the quickest player in the side with 88 pace, while Nikolai Topor-Stanley leads the way with 84 for physical.
Other new additions to the team include James Troisi (64) and Jacob Tratt (60), while young guns Rhys Bozinovski and Ben Collins will feature in the game for the very first time.
The full game was released on Friday September 30, allowing Western United fans to go head to head against their friends using their favourite Green and Black stars.
