Western United can confirm that winger Dylan Pierias will depart the Club at the conclusion of his contract in order to pursue other opportunities.
The Club had been working to retain Pierias over the past 12 months, but the player has opted to move on elsewhere.
Pierias was a foundation player at Western United, joining ahead of the Club’s inaugural season in the Isuzu UTE A-League Men in 2019.
He went on to play 94 league matches for the Club, making him the second highest appearance maker in United’s history so far.
Pierias scored his first professional goal against Perth Glory in the third match of the 2020/21 season and followed up with his second just four minutes later in the same game, going on to score 10 times in total for the Green and Black.
After featuring regularly in the Club’s first season, it was that second season where Pierias broke through, playing in all 26 matches – 20 of which were starts – and scoring six goals.
United’s No.5 followed that up with another strong campaign in 2021/22 where he helped the Club win its first ever Isuzu UTE A-League Championship.
Western United General Manager of Football Mal Impiombato thanked Pierias for his time and impact at the Club.
“I wish to thank Dylan for his contribution to the Club over the course of the last four seasons,” he said.
“We engaged in constant discussions with Dylan and his representative over the course of the last 12 months in order to extend his stay at the Club.
“Unfortunately, Dylan has opted to pursue opportunities elsewhere and I wish him every success with his next steps.”
