The Green Room on FNR returns on Wednesday February 16 with a bumper episode featuring guests live in the studio for the first time this year.
Ahead of Western United’s Food Relief match against Western Sydney Wanderers this weekend in partnership with Foodbank Victoria, the show will have a particular Foodbank theme with each guest connected to Sunday’s special event.
Foodbank Victoria Chief Communications Officer Matt Tilley will open the show to discuss the importance of the partnership with Western United and why this weekend’s event is set to be so exciting.
Tilley joined Foodbank in March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic was first entering the community, ending a 25-year career in broadcast radio and television in exchange for making an impact in the community.
He will be joined by Western United CEO Chris Pehlivanis to explain how much it means to the Club to have Foodbank as its Charity Partner and how important it is to make a difference in the community.
In 2021, the Foodbank Hunger Report revealed one in six Australian adults hadn’t had enough to eat throughout the past year, and 1.2 million children had gone without adequate food. Foodbank Victoria works to combat that by providing more than one million meals to people in need each and every month.
Calder United and Western United Development Squad goalkeeper Alyssa Dall’Oste will also join the show. As well as talking about her preparations for the upcoming NPLW season and visions for an A-League Women spot in the future, Dall’Oste will also contribute to the Foodbank discussion.
Together with Western United stars Leo Lacroix and Ryan Scott, Dall’Oste was yesterday announced as a member of the Food Relief Squad as an ambassador for Foodbank ahead of the match.
She will explain what it means for her to be involved in this cause and how important the ongoing collaboration between Calder United and Western United is and will continue to be.
For all that, plus an additional pre-recorded interview from Western United assistant coach Hayden Foxe, tune in live to The Green Room on FNR from 7pm.
The show can be streamed from Western United’s Facebook page as well as on FNR’s channels on Twitter and Twitch. For more information on the show and to catch up on previous episodes, visit the page on the Club’s website.
Fans can donate to Foodbank Victoria and go into the running to win up to $10,000 at the match on Sunday in the 61 Design Kick to Win half-time competition.
