John Aloisi will continue to realise Western United’s bold vision in the West, signing on as Isuzu UTE A-League Men Head Coach for the next two seasons.

The Socceroos legend has reinvigorated the Club on and off the pitch and will continue to inspire its sustained growth in all areas.

Having guided the Club to its first ever Isuzu UTE A-League Championship last season, Aloisi will now take Western United into its next great milestone as the Club prepares to move into its home in the West.

Western General Manager of Football Mal Impiombato said Aloisi’s impact on the Club’s culture and his immediate understanding of its purpose meant he was the perfect leader to move into the future.

“John has bought into our vision, our identity and our philosophy as a Club from the moment he arrived,” he said.

“Last season, John was able to entrench our values into our playing group and extend on the existing foundations developed by the Club, leading us to the A-League Men Championship.

“John’s impact on the entire Club environment and the standards that are set here has been integral, through his work ethic, dedication and his qualities as a person.

“John remains committed to the growth of our Club and our identity in the West and I am delighted that he will be the visionary leader to take us into the next major chapter on our journey.”

Aloisi said he felt a strong connection with the Club and embraced his responsibility to continue making dreams come true in the West.

“I am extremely grateful to everyone at Western United for the faith they have shown in me and for the opportunity to continue to lead the Club into the future,” he said.

“I have been excited by the journey this Club is on since the day that I joined, and I am thankful for the chance to continue to help lead that journey.

“We have enjoyed many memorable moments as a Club already and I am looking forward to sharing plenty more special memories with our fans in the future.”

One of Australia’s most iconic sporting figures, Aloisi’s commitment to Western United comes as a significant vote of confidence as the Club approaches the next stage of its wholistic development.

His coaching acumen broke records in his maiden season in the West as United set new benchmarks for the Club in wins, points and overall league position before the thrilling Championship triumph in May.

By re-signing with the Club, Aloisi will become Western United’s longest-serving head coach and will strive to create more special memories for football fans in the West.
