Leo Lacroix nominated for Austraffic PFA Player of the Month

Leo Lacroix Western United

Western United defender Leo Lacroix has been recognised for his outstanding start to life at the Club by receiving a nomination for the Austraffic PFA Player of the Month for November.

Lacroix helped United to two wins and a draw in the opening month of the new season, seeing the Green and Black into third place on the Isuzu UTE A-League Men table in its early stages.

The Swiss star started and played every minute of the three matches, in which John Aloisi’s side did not concede a goal from open play and kept two clean sheets.

Much of that was thanks to Lacroix’s outstanding work alongside Tomoki Imai at the back, with his towering presence at the back dominating opposition attacks.

Only Melbourne Victory conceded more goals than Western United last season, but Lacroix has already made an impact on the defensive structure.

Leo Lacroix was in fine form against Melbourne City

The 29-year-old’s standout performance was in the 1-0 win against Melbourne City last Saturday, where he contributed with a game-high nine clearances and five interceptions, earning him Man of the Match honours.

Equal to his defensive prowess, Lacroix has caught the eye with his ability on the ball as he has shown his superb dribbling and range of passing on a number of occasions across November.

After arriving from FC Sion in his native Switzerland, Lacroix’s time in the A-League Men has got off to a perfect start, and he will look to carry that form into United’s next match against Brisbane Roar.
