After fighting all the way in the race for the Premier’s Plate, Mark Torcaso’s side secured a second-placed finish on the table and approached the Finals Series daring to dream of more.

An outstanding 1-0 win over Sydney FC in the Semi-Final took United into an historic Grand Final and even though the Sky Blues got their revenge on the day, there was nothing to take away from Western United’s inaugural season.

United’s first ever Liberty A-League team introduced a number of superstars to football fans in the West.

Inaugural signing Alana Cerne emerged as one of the league’s best young players, Hannah Keane cruised to the Golden Boot award while Jaclyn Sawicki and Angie Beard became star players and went on to create more footballing history with the Philippines at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Matildas superstar Chloe Logarzo will be ready for a monster season at United with a return to full fitness in midfield and Torcaso has already begun shaping the squad with new signings Catherine Zimmerman and Grace Maher set to light up the league.

That all makes for a second Liberty A-League season that will surely be even bigger than the first and will certainly be one not to be missed.
