Western United is calling on the Green and Black army to put their design skills to the test and create their best fan posters ahead of Sunday’s Liberty A-League Women clash against Adelaide United.
Football fandom is continuing to grow, particularly in the women’s game, and the art of the fan poster has been a key contributor to that surge.

Fans young and old have been getting increasingly more creative in designing special posters to celebrate their teams, their favourite players and to help create the atmosphere in the stands.
With 10 matches to go, United has a succession of home matches coming up and we need to do everything in our collective power to get behind the girls as we push them towards finals football.
Fans have filled City Vista Pavilion and Sports Field consistently all season long, bringing the noise and the colour to the stands to drive the team onto victory.
Now, we need something extra special and right in the middle of school holidays, it’s the perfect time for you to create your very own personalised masterpiece at home.
We recommend green or black paper, of course, but there is no limit on the possibilities for what you can add to your poster, and we’re not looking for the most extravagant and glamourous creations.
It can have a funny message, the name and number of your favourite player, some photos or even some hand-drawn or painted images to support the team.
Imagination can run wild, so long as it helps you have an even better day out at City Vista and helps you cheer the girls on towards a big three points.
Western United matchday staff will be on the lookout for some of their favourite posters on Sunday with spot prizes up for grabs for the best efforts.
So, time to get the crafts out, get the thinking caps on and create something special to help get the girls over the line on the pitch.
We can’t wait to see what you all come up with.
