Race for the Premier’s Plate heads into the final matchday

Western United fans

The old adage goes that anything can happen in football, and that is certainly becoming apparent heading into the final weekend of the 2021/22 Isuzu UTE A-League Men regular season.

Western United, Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City are separated by just one point at the top of the league with the Victorian trio each playing one final game this weekend.

In true Westie fashion, we will do it the hard way as we travel to Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium for the season finale on Sunday.

United still has everything to play for in its final game against Adelaide on the back of a superb season, in which John Aloisi, his staff and players have revamped the culture of the Club and put in some memorable performances.

Aloisi has maintained that he and his players will give everything they have to be as successful as possible and that he is committed to making the fans proud of this squad.

Looking back on the last 12 months, it is clear to see how far the Club has come. From finishing third last in the league in the 2020/21 season, the Green and Black has turned its fortunes around with a host of new players, new coaching staff and a brand new training facility at the NEC Hangar, partnering with Essendon Football Club.

Throughout it all, the one constant has been the loyal support of the Green and Black army – the fans who have ridden all of the bumps and the twists and turns of the last three years. United is continuing to build the family, and everyone that has been on the journey to date has been of great significance.

On the eve of the Club’s second-ever finals berth – and the first to be played in front of friends, families, partners and fans – we need you now to bring the boys home in one final away day, with the chance to create something special.

Western United is offering a $100 cashback redemption and a free match ticket to any members travelling to the match in Adelaide. Click here for more information on the deal and be there to support the boys in Green and Black as they continue to chase history.
