Western United fans can bid on some final, limited-edition pieces of Alessandro Diamanti memorabilia thanks to MatchWornShirt.
Having partnered with MatchWornShirt with men’s and women’s auctions during the 2022/23 season, United has teamed up with them again to offer an exclusive range to celebrate Diamanti’s retirement.
Being the Club’s inaugural captain, it is only fitting that one of the items on offer is an Isuzu UTE A-League Men captain’s armband signed by the man himself.
Diamanti wore a captain’s armband around his bicep across his 82 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances, a symbol that will always be associated with the Italian’s time in Green and Black.
The 40-year-old wore many different jerseys throughout his time at Western United, and thanks to this auction you could own one of two shirts that went into battle on the pitch.
The first is an away jersey worn by Diamanti in United’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Sydney FC on Saturday 1 April. The No.23 came off the bench in the 67th minute and had a major impact, coming incredibly close to finding a goal or assist that would have clinched a win for his side.
A home jersey is also on offer, and not only was this worn by Diamanti in his final home match as a professional footballer, it is also personally signed by the Italian international.
Diamanti came on in the 77th minute against Melbourne City on Saturday 22 April, very nearly finding the top right corner with a trademark free-kick that would have been fitting of the occasion.
In addition to the three Diamanti items, there are also home and away jerseys signed by Western United’s entire 2022/23 Isuzu UTE A-League squad up for grabs.
Auctions close on Saturday 13 May at 5pm AEST, so get your bids in quickly before it’s too late to snap up some special pieces of memorabilia.
The Ciao Dia t-shirts are also still on sale on Western United’s official online merchandise store, with limited stock available of signed t-shirts in small, medium and large sizes.
