Tickets are now on sale for Western United’s blockbuster Isuzu UTE A-League clash against Melbourne City at AAMI Park on January 29.

After a difficult start to 2022 without any football, United will return home to face the reigning A-League Men Champions at the end of the month.

John Aloisi’s men have not played since a Boxing Day defeat to Melbourne Victory, and will be out to make up for lost time when they finally return to the pitch.

Western United enjoyed a sensational win over Melbourne City in December 2021, with an outstanding Dylan Wenzel-Halls goal securing the second of four wins in a row.

That run has United sitting in third place on the Isuzu UTE A-League table, with Melbourne City just three points behind in fifth.

The match will be a battle of West vs East in Melbourne, with City out for revenge and United looking to continue its strong run of form at AAMI Park, where it has won three and lost one so far this season.

Dylan Wenzel-Halls gave Western United a great win against Melbourne City last time out.

This will come just two days after the Socceroos take on Vietnam at AAMI Park in a crucial World Cup Qualifier, with potential impacts for players called up to Graham Arnold’s squad.

With further home matches to come at Mars Stadium in Ballarat and at Launceston’s UTAS Stadium between now and the end of the season, this could be one of the last opportunities to see a United home match at AAMI Park.

Another meeting with Melbourne City on Saturday March 19 is currently fixtured for AAMI Park, while the postponed match against Sydney FC will need to be determined upon its rescheduling.
