Unprecedented look at A-League Men Champions in ‘United’ series

Australian football fans will get an unprecedented insight into the lives of the Isuzu UTE A-League Men Champions in United, Western United’s uncompromising documentary series.

The trailer for the series is now live ahead of the full release on December 7, containing six episodes all available at once for free on 10Play.

The docuseries charts United’s course from Isuzu UTE A-League cellar dwellers to Champions in under 12 months.

With a refreshed playing squad, a brand new head coach in Socceroos legend John Aloisi and a renewed hunger throughout the Club, Western United set about competing at the top of the league, and the rest is history.

United gives an insight into the key moves off the pitch as the Green and Black recruited new players and headed to a new training facility at the NEC Hangar.

In just its third season as a professional football club, Western United continued to navigate the complexities of professional sport in a pandemic and the financial implications involved.

A key topic for the Club continues to be the Wyndham City Stadium precinct, and the series goes into the work being done to continue working towards construction of the 15,000-seat arena and the surrounding city which will bring the West of Melbourne to life.

On top of that, United gains insight from some of the Club’s most passionate fans as they continue to grow the supporter base in the stands, something that would prove pivotal in the Finals Series.

Neil Kilkenny’s journey in Victoria without his family, Rene Krhin’s delayed arrival into the team and Ryan Scott’s impact in the dressing room while competing with Jamie Young in goal all come under the spotlight.

Leading all the way up into the Grand Final and the ensuing celebrations, United relives the dramatic end to the 2021/22 season with the Premiership race and the thrilling Finals Series.
