Western United A-League Men Squad: Round 12 vs Newcastle Jets

John Aloisi Western United

John Aloisi has named his extended 20-man squad for Sunday’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men Round 12 clash against Newcastle Jets at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

The Western United boss will unfortunately be without left-back Ben Garuccio after he suffered a calf injury in last week’s defeat to Melbourne City, an injury that places him on the sidelines approximately six weeks.

Aloisi will turn to his defensive options to fill the void at left-back with the likes of Josh Risdon, Jacob Tratt and Tomoki Imai all named in the extended squad and capable of taking up full-back positions.

Neil Kilkenny is in line to make his 150th Isuzu UTE A-League appearance against the Jets in what will be his 38th league match in Green and Black if he is to feature.

United’s No.88 has had an outstanding career and remains an integral part of Aloisi’s midfield, which his role set to be important once again on his milestone occasion.

James Troisi remains on the sidelines with a calf injury while Steven Lustica continues to recover from a hamstring issue.

Nicolas Milanovic will hope to keep his place in the starting XI while Dylan Pierias will have eyes on a first start of the season after a promising cameo last week against Melbourne City.
