John Aloisi has named an unchanged extended 20-man squad for Western United’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men Round 14 trip to face Macarthur FC.
Fresh from signing a new three-year deal the Club, Connor Pain remains in the squad and his line to play his 93rd league game for Western United, drawing closer to becoming the first player to reach the century mark in Green and Black.
Dylan Pierias has been in fine form in two successive starts and will be hoping for a spot in the XI against this weekend.
James Troisi returned to the bench last week and could be aiming for a start of his own, with strong competition in the No.10 position alongside the likes of Lachie Wales, Nicolas Milanovic and Alessandro Diamanti.
The latter will be on a high after his outstanding late winner against Sydney FC in Hobart on Saturday and will hope to feature again.
Noah Botic made the first start of his senior career in that victory and will eager for a second one in as many games, but Aleksandar Prijovic is back in the extended squad.
The Serbian striker missed the Sydney meeting with a shoulder injury he picked up the previous week against Newcastle Jets but will be aiming to get himself fit in time to meet Macarthur, a team he scored against in both fixtures last season.
Jacob Tratt completed his one-match suspension last week but has picked up a hamstring injury on the training ground and will miss this fixture.
He joins Ben Garuccio and Steven Lustica on the treatment table for United, at present the only injury concerns for Aloisi to contend with.
