Western United ALM Squad: Round 17 vs Wellington Phoenix

Western United A-League Men

John Aloisi has named an unchanged extended squad for Western United’s Friday night Isuzu UTE A-League Men clash against Wellington Phoenix at UTAS Stadium in Launceston.

In its second trip to Tasmania for the season, United will hope to continue its strong form in the Apple Isle and follow on from its win in Hobart last month.

An unchanged side means that new signings Connor O’Toole and Michael Ruhs will both be chasing their second appearances for the Club, but Ramy Najjarine will have to wait at least another week.

After starting and scoring his first professional goal last week, Noah Botic is included in the extended squad again and will be eager to start for the fourth time in five weeks having impressed last time out.

Rhys Bozinovski is involved again and will hope to feature in what will be his last match before jetting off to Uzbekistan where he will join the Young Socceroos for the AFC U20 Asian Cup campaign.

Lachie Wales, Dylan Pierias, Aleksandar Prijovic and Connor Pain all scored for Western United at UTAS Stadium last season and will be out to repeat that feat to secure what would be a crucial three points for the Green and Black.

Aloisi will be hoping his side can maintain its unbeaten run in Tasmania as the race for finals continues with 10 matches remaining.
