John Aloisi has the luxury of naming an unchanged extended 20-man squad for Western United’s trip to face Brisbane Roar in Round 21 of the Isuzu UTE A-League Men season.
United is playing itself into form with three consecutive wins and Aloisi continues to have the bulk of his first-team squad available to play.
Connor Pain is in line to make history for Western United, set to become the first player in the Club’s history to make 100 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances for the Green and Black.
United’s No.11 is in superb form on the pitch with six assists, a team-high and second only to Craig Goodwin across the entire competition.
Josh Risdon and Neil Kilkenny are not far behind Pain in that department with five and four assists respectively, with the three United stars hoping to tee up their teammates once again this weekend.
Aleksandar Prijovic scored on his return to the starting XI on Monday and will hope to keep building his momentum, as will Ben Garuccio after a scintillating display at left-back against Melbourne Victory.
Steven Lustica made his second appearance post-injury in that win and will be eager for more minutes in midfield, fresh from securing a new one-year contract with United.
Aloisi offered a positive injury update in his pre-match press conference, hinting that both Ramy Najjarine and James Troisi could be available to play against Sydney FC after the international break.
Midfielder Rhys Bozinovski is also expected to be available for that fixture once he returns from Uzbekistan having been on international duty with the Young Socceroos at the AFC U20 Asian Cup.
