Western United fixtures released for 2023/24 A-Leagues season

For the first time in the Club’s history, Western United’s women’s and men’s teams will kick off their seasons just a week apart, with the full season schedule confirmed today by Australian Professional Leagues (APL).

On the back of the phenomenal FIFA Women’s World Cup and in a first for the game in Australia, the Liberty A-League Women season will begin before the Isuzu UTE A-League Men with a standalone opening round.

That will see Western United begin its season away from home against Perth Glory, with the Grand Finalists making the long trip west on October 14.

Following that, the Green and Black will return home for two mammoth fixtures with consecutive home ties against local rivals Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City.

John Aloisi’s new look Western United men’s side will begin its campaign just as it did the last one with an away fixture against Melbourne City – incidentally also the fixture with which United will end the season.

United begins the Isuzu UTE A-League season with three straight away clashes before a first home tie against Newcastle Jets on Saturday 11 November.

The Green and Black’s home fixture against Melbourne Victory won’t come until late on in the season, with the Club’s marquee fixture slated for Round 21 on Saturday 16 March.

Venues for each of Western United’s home matches across both Liberty A-League and Isuzu UTE A-League are to be confirmed as the Club approaches the final phase of its move-in to Tarneit.

Alongside partners Wyndham City, Western Melbourne Group and the Club are working tirelessly behind the scenes to enable as many home matches as possible to be played at the Regional Football Facility (RFF) this season.

Between now and the commencement of the A-Leagues season, we will provide updates to members and fans on fixtured venues, development of the RFF and membership on-sale dates as soon as possible.

This will include updates on familiar alternative venues to be used for home matches alongside the RFF this season.

Wherever the teams are playing, both squads are ready for another big season, the Club’s fifth in the Isuzu UTE A-League and second in the Liberty A-League.

We thank all our members and fans for being with us at the start of building our Club. It’s been a big first four seasons with so many achievements and the 2023/24 season is set to be a landmark campaign for all of us to share.
