Western United winger Connor Pain will appear on The Green Room on FNR Football Nation Radio on Wednesday night.
Pain is on a high after a superb start to the campaign, with winning goals against Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United helping the Club to its record-breaking four-match winning streak. He also set up Dylan Wenzel-Halls’ winner against Perth Glory in Round 2.
The 28-year-old has started every A-League Men match so far this season, relishing a return to his more natural left-wing position after having played a lot of left wing-back both in previous seasons at United and in parts of his stints with Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Victory.
Alongside Wenzel-Halls, Pain is United’s top goal scorer through the first five matches, and only Newcastle Jets duo Valentino Yuel and Beka Mikeltadze have scored more than the pair.
Pain will hope to continue his strong early-season form into a big Round 6 clash against Melbourne Victory on Boxing Day, with his former side right behind United on the table.
The Green and Black will look to avenge defeat in Round 1 with a strong showing at AAMI Park, with a win keeping John Aloisi’s side in touch with the top of the table.
Western United super fan Caleb Trimble will also join The Green Room to talk about his brand new ‘Poi Bo’ tattoo and all the joys of supporting the Green and Black.
With a brilliant start on the pitch and exciting movements off it, the close to 2021 has been a big one for Western United and provides the foundation for a successful 2022.
