Western United has unveiled its brand-new home and alternate playing kits for the 2022/23 Isuzu UTE A-League Men season, courtesy of Kappa.
The Italian manufacturer returns for the Club’s fourth season, once again delivering playing kits with style and comfort.
The new threads will debut in Round 1 of the new campaign, a blockbuster derby clash against Melbourne City on Friday October 7.
United stars Alessandro Diamanti, Josh Risdon and Ben Garuccio helped launch the strips with a street-style photoshoot, combining the kits with their own fashion items, bringing out their own personal styles and showing the kits can look impressive with any casual clothing.
The most appealing feature of the new strips is the glistening gold Isuzu UTE A-League Men logo, emblazoned on the right of the chest on both kits.
The side will wear this badge for the entire campaign, recognising Western United as the reigning A-League Men Champions after its historic Grand Final win over City in May.
The home shirt features United’s classic Green and Black stripes with a bold new design for the fourth edition of the kit.
Where each of the previous three seasons have featured solid, block stripes, a new eye-catching pattern features across the stripes for this new version, giving the kit a fearsome look.
The green stripes fade into the back with an almost reptilian texture, increasing the black in the kit in a striking design.
United’s new alternate number features a similar but more creative design to last season’s road uniform, with a continuation of the predominantly white body.
The Green and Black lines down the middle of the jersey return, but rather than the spray paint design from 2021/22, the new look features a more prominent looking zig-zag sketch pattern.
The sharp edges resemble the strength of the team and of the people in the West, while the sketch throughout represents the creativity and daringness of the players on the pitch.
The shorts for the home kit also feature the faded green stripe down the side, while the alternate bottoms are decorated with the Kappa logo down the sides of the legs.
Both strips will feature across the entire campaign, accompanied by the goalkeeper’s attire which will be released closer to the season’s commencement.
Simonds Homes returns as the Club’s front of shirt sponsor for the third straight season, continuing their unwavering support as the Club’s Principal Partner.
Premier Partners Wyndham City and Victoria University Polytechnic remain on the back of jersey and shirt sleeve respectively, with league sponsor Isuzu UTE featuring on the other sleeve and broadcast partners Channel 10 and Paramount+ placed on the back underneath the collar.
Punvec, Werribee and Western Automotive Group and Happsa Group feature on the shorts as Platinum Partners – the former on the front of the shorts, and the latter pair on the backs of each leg.
The playing kits for the inaugural Liberty A-League Women team will also be launched in due course, with the Club excited to unveil the first ever strips ahead of the Round 1 clash against Melbourne Victory.
Men’s kits will go on sale on the official Western United store from next week, ready in time for fans to get their hands on the new pieces ahead of the opening round of the new season.
