Western United’s inaugural Family Day at Wyndham Park in Werribee is right around the corner and all the activities and Green and Black excitement are locked in for the big day.
The Green and Black family will gather in the West on Sunday September 18 from 12-3pm, rubbing shoulders with A-Leagues players and coaches and enjoying a fantastic day out with the family.
Meet the players, coaches and A-League Men Championship trophy
The main attraction of the day will of course be the entire 2022/23 Isuzu UTE A-League Men playing squad and coaching staff being in attendance.
As well as being presented one by one on stage, the players and coaches will be available throughout the day to chat with fans, take photos and sign autographs.
Being part of the Western United Trophy Tour, the 2021/22 A-League Men Championship trophy will also be in attendance for fans to get a glimpse of and take a photo with.
Plenty of fun activities on offer for the kids
The day will have something for everyone in the family, but kids in particular will have a range of activities to participate in and games to play throughout the afternoon.
United’s stilt performers will be roaming around and engaging with kids, while there will also be a face painting station for young westies to get some Green and Black on their face.
Family and friends can get competitive with each other inside a zorb ball or take part in inflatable football fun throughout the day as well.
Membership offers ahead of the new season
Western United’s membership team will also be in attendance with packages available to be purchased, with some special deals exclusive to WUFC Family Day.
Sign up on the day with a 3-game membership and get an additional three games added on, making it a 6-game package for just $37 for adults and $15 for kids.
On top of that, there is a special deal for members who have already signed up. On Family Day only, joined-up 2022/23 Western United members can ‘pay it forward’ with a free 3-game membership for a friend or loved one to get them involved in the Green and Black and to head to games with.
Members can also sign up to the member raffle at the membership marquee, with a list of great prizes on offer including some special matchday experiences.
Fans will be able to engage with Club partners at a number of sponsor activations and stock up on their Green and Black collection at the merchandise tent.
Pet-friendly afternoon, with special dog bandanas available
Being in an open parkland, pets are welcome to join the fun, provided they remain on a lead, and soak up the Western United festivities.
United’s most loyal four-legged fans will have plenty of space to operate in and mingle with each other, and they will all look stylish doing so.
Free WUFC-themed dog bandanas will be available as long as stock lasts, so each pooch in the park will be adorned with a little piece of Green and Black to celebrate the West.
Support local eateries in Werribee
With food trucks at the park to provide options for lunch, fans attending the Family Day are also encouraged to support the local businesses in Werribee.
Just a five-minute walk along the neighbouring Watton Street will present patrons with an extensive list of quality cafes and eateries from which to purchase lunch, coffees and drinks.
Travel and parking information
For any fans wishing to travel to Wyndham Park on public transport, the park is just a short walk from Werribee Station.
Services from Southern Cross Station will leave every 20 minutes on Sunday morning, and the journey will take roughly 47 minutes so the 10:30am or 10:50am services would be recommended to ensure you don’t miss any of the action on Family Day.
Fans planning to drive will have plenty of options for parking including the free, all-day West End Car Park at the corner of Werribee and Watton Streets.
Additional free parking zones (with time limits) are located at Wyndham Cultural Centre, on Comben Drive, Watton Street, Synnot Street, or at the Riverbend Car Park or Hunter Car Park.
