Western United set for summer A-Leagues double header

Western United

Western United fans can enjoy 180 minutes of non-stop Green and Black action with a double header fixture featuring the Isuzu UTE A-League Men and Liberty A-League Women scheduled in February.

AAMI Park will play host to the double header featuring an A-League Women blockbuster against Melbourne City and an A-League Men meeting with Adelaide United, with kick-off times at 2:20pm and 5pm AEDT respectively on Saturday February 11.

With the inaugural women’s side entering the competition this season, this gives United’s supporters the first opportunity to watch elite men’s and women’s football back-to-back on a fine summer afternoon.

The fixtures will come at key junctures in both seasons, with five games remaining in the A-League Women campaign following the clash against City.

Mark Torcaso will be hoping his side will be staging a push for finals football at that point of the campaign, with a rivalry match against City potentially crucial at the pointy end of the season.

John Aloisi’s A-League Men team will enter the final 10 matches of the regular season following the date with the Reds, meaning a late run for finals places will also be on the line in that competition.

The Green and Black defeated Adelaide 1-0 at AAMI Park last season, a result that broke a new Club record with four consecutive wins, and the side will out for a similar result early next year.

Information around ticketing for both matches will be confirmed at a later date, including how fans can attend early and show their support for the Green and Black at each game.
