Western United to face Macarthur FC on February 1

Alessandro Diamanti Western United

Western United will make up one of its four postponed matches on Tuesday February 1 with an away trip to Macarthur FC.

The fixture was the third of four consecutive Western United Isuzu UTE A-League to be postponed but will be the first to be rescheduled.

The trip across the border will complete a big week of matches for John Aloisi’s side, with this coming in between big games against Melbourne rivals City and Victory.

United went over a month without any on-pitch action, but matches will begin to ramp up as rescheduled matches are added to the calendar.

The match will be played at Campbelltown Stadium, with kick-off set for 7:45pm AEDT.

Macarthur has had its own issues with COVID-19 and missed matches through the first month of 2022, and this clash will be the first of the new year for the Bulls.

Western United and Macarthur have been two of the early bolters in this A-League Men season with four wins each seeing Macarthur in third and United in fourth.

This will be just the fourth meeting between the league’s two newest sides, with United winning once and losing twice in the three meetings over the 2020/21 season.
