Western United’s set of fixtures for the next month of Isuzu UTE A-League Men action has been confirmed with five matches set to be played in March.

The Green and Black has enjoyed a fine run of form throughout February, earning three wins, two draws and no losses ahead of one final match to close out the month against Perth Glory on Sunday.

John Aloisi’s side will hope to begin March atop the A-League Men table ahead of a big set of fixtures leading into the final month of the season.

United will kick off March with a return to Ballarat as Newcastle Jets come to Mars Stadium on Saturday March 5, with kick-off at 3:05pm AEDT.

The Club is currently on a record six-match winning streak in home games and will look to make it seven in the first league meeting with the Jets this season.

The following week will see the Green and Black face Sydney FC for the third time in a span of 27 days, and at a third different venue as United will travel to Leichhardt Oval for a 7:45pm AEDT kick-off on Friday March 11.

Then it will be a blockbuster clash for United and arguably the biggest of its season, with a potential top of the table cracker in store against Melbourne City on Saturday March 19 kicking off at 7:45pm at AAMI Park.

The current top two sides will battle it out for supremacy heading into the final weeks of the season, and United will fancy a clean sweep of fixtures against City after wins in both of the previous meetings.

Only a few days will separate that clash from another Melbourne derby match for Western United, with a make-up fixture against Melbourne Victory set for Wednesday March 23, with a kick-off of 7:05pm AEDT at AAMI Park.

Just like the City match, that fixture could prove pivotal in shaping the table in the run-in to the finals, and United will be out to avenge two previous defeats against Victory this season.

Finally, Aloisi will return to Brisbane to close out the month as United faces Brisbane Roar on Saturday March 26 at 5:05pm AEDT (4:05pm local time) at Moreton Daily Stadium in Redcliffe.

That then leads the side into a hectic final month of the campaign in April, with seven fixtures to be played and the minor premiership and finals spots to decided heading into May.
