Western United is proud to name the three finalists for the Top Corner partnership initiative after the first round of applications. The Top Corner promotion will grant one small business in the west a Western United partnership valued at $50,000 as the Club seeks to support local businesses who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The Club was sent almost 40 applications from a range of businesses across the west, but has narrowed the running down to three finalists.
Western United has learned its full fixture for the 2021/22 Isuzu UTE A-League Men season with Australian Professional League’s releasing the entire schedule. The first six games of the season had already been announced to take the season into the new year, with United’s campaign set to begin on November 20 against Melbourne Victory. John Aloisi will take his side interstate for the first time in Round 7 with a New Year’s Day clash against Western Sydney Wanderers at CommBank Stadium.

Western United’s new star striker Aleksandar Prijovic has arrived in Melbourne and joined his new teammates for the first time this week. The 31-year-old signed for the Club earlier this month, coming from Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia where he spent two seasons. Addressing the media on his second day at the club, Prijovic said he is excited about the Western United project and the opportunities it will bring.

Happsa Group will continue as the Club’s Commercial Cleaning Partner, keeping Western United a safe place for all during the COVID-19 pandemic. Western United is proud to recognise three of its players who have earned selection to the Australian U23 Men’s National team. Adisu Bayew, Noah Botic and Luke Duzel have formed part of a 21-man squad in Dubai for a training camp. Following that, the squad will travel to Tajikistan to face Indonesia in two qualification matches for next year’s AFC U23 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan. Mal Impiombato, General Manager of Football said:
Western United has strengthened its connection to the west, partnering with Essendon Football Club in a landmark deal for the two elite sporting codes. The tenancy partnership will mean United’s administration staff and A-League team will move to the Essendon Hangar in Tullamarine, bringing the green and black staff under the one roof for the first time. Western United has added another high-profile international to its squad with the signing of Serbian international striker Aleksandar Prijovic on a multi-year deal.
